Twenty of the 6,666

The Cursed
Entities

Our collection hosts 20 legendary beasts, drawn by hand and shuffled randomly into the collection.

The other 6,646

The Corrupted

The other 6,646 are built from layers, every part of them painted by hand. Six layers, stacked in a fixed order, under rules that throw out anything that reads wrong.

Anatomy of a soul

  1. BackgroundThree grounds, all near-black. The character carries the colour.
  2. WeaponSits behind the body, so it reads as carried.
  3. BaseThe character underneath. Human, undead, demon, or something with no word for it.
  4. EyesOnly the nine human faces take them. Everything else has its eyes already painted in.
  5. OutfitArmour, gown, rags, or a hood that swallows the head entirely.
  6. HeadHelmet, crown, mask or growth. A hood leaves this slot empty.

Five palettes

Corruption

Magenta and violet. The rot that gives the collection its name.

Necrotic

Green and teal. Fungal growth, venom, the freshly dead.

Infernal

Red and fire. Demons, lava, anything still burning.

Royal

Gold and white. Crowns, gilded armour, fallen nobility.

Neutral

Bone, steel, leather. Sits with any of the four above.

A character draws from one palette plus neutral. It is the rule that stops six and a half thousand random combinations from looking random.

Every one of those 136 pieces was painted on its own, then dropped if it did not hold up beside the rest. Several were.
